Lakes District Museum

The buildings now occupied by the Lakes District Museum and the Visitor Information Centre were built during the last century for the BC Forest Service. Constructed in 1937, the museum building was originally the home of this area’s forest ranger. The Visitor Information Centre (circa mid-1940s) was a forestry warehouse. The municipality purchased the land and buildings in the late 1980s.
